Best Catamaran Tours in Curaçao
Curaçao's catamaran tours by type: the Klein Curaçao sailing day trip, half-day snorkel cruises, sunset sails and private boats, with prices, ratings and who each suits.
Curaçao’s catamaran tours fall into three groups: full-day trips to Klein Curaçao, half-day snorkelling cruises and sunset sails. On our booking partner they cost from $75 for a 2.5-hour sunset sail to $160 for a full day on Klein Curaçao. If you want the sail itself to be part of the day out, book the Irie Tours sailing catamaran to Klein Curaçao at $140. If you do not need two hulls, the Mermaid is a motor vessel and the Klein Curaçao trip we suggest for most first-time visitors.

Best overall: a Klein Curaçao catamaran day
If you want a catamaran, a day on Klein Curaçao gives you the most for your money: an open-sea crossing, an uninhabited island with a long white beach, a reef slope a short swim from the sand and green turtles feeding in the shallows. Two catamarans make the trip through our booking partner.
The Irie Tours catamaran is a sailing catamaran with trampolines on the bow. It leaves from The Village Marina near the Jan Thiel roundabout, and the operator puts the crossing at one to one and a half hours. The $140 fare covers breakfast sandwiches, coffee and tea on the way out, a barbecue lunch, fruit, a mask and snorkel, beach chairs and an open bar from 12:30. Pickup is free inside the Jan Thiel area and $15 per person elsewhere. It has 4.7/5 from 106 reviews.
The Gold Seahorse is a catamaran yacht with cushioned sun beds and a restroom aboard. It sails from Kima Kalki Marina on Spanish Water, the operator reckons about an hour each way, and the day lasts eight hours instead of nine. The $160 fare includes breakfast, a barbecue lunch with filet mignon and salmon, soft drinks and snorkel gear; cocktails are extra at $10, paid by card aboard. It has 4.5/5 from 307 reviews, the lower rating of the two.
Book Irie if you want the lower price, drinks included and a lift from Jan Thiel. Pick the Gold Seahorse if a shorter day and a toilet on the boat matter more to you. Our catamaran comparison goes through both boats in detail.
Whichever you choose, the outward crossing heads into the trade wind and is rougher than most people expect. If you get seasick, read which boat handles the crossing best before you pay. Best operators to compare: Irie Tours and BlueFinn
Irie Tours runs more of Curaçao’s catamaran trips on our booking partner than anyone else: the Klein Curaçao day, the half-day snorkel cruise, the west coast trip and the sunset sail. That makes it easy to compare formats from one operator, and its listings sit between 4.6 and 4.7 out of 5. Our Irie Tours review covers the Klein Curaçao trip in full.
BlueFinn is not bookable through our booking partner, so we cannot show you verified guest ratings for it. If you want to compare it, book direct. Its own website lists these prices in October 2026:
- Klein Curaçao day trip: US$140 for adults and US$75 for children aged 4 to 12, daily at 8:00 or 8:30 a.m. from Jan Thiel, Mood or the Village Marina, with about 1 hour 45 minutes of cruising each way.
- Catamaran snorkel trip: US$110 for adults and US$55 for children, Fridays at 10:00 a.m. from Mood Beach.
- Sunset cruise: US$79 for adults and US$40 for children, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 5:30 p.m. from Mood Beach.
BlueFinn’s fleet includes four catamarans of 50 to 80 feet, but its trip page does not say which boat each trip uses or what the fare includes. Ask both questions before you book.
Best half-day: a snorkelling catamaran
Choose a snorkelling catamaran if you want less time in transit. The Irie snorkel cruise spends 4.5 hours in sheltered coastal water with no open-sea crossing. You run through Spanish Water past the waterfront villas, snorkel the Tugboat Wreck, which is shallow enough to see clearly from the surface, and stop at a shallow reef inside Curaçao’s national underwater park. The $100 fare includes a barbecue lunch, an open bar and the mask and snorkel. Vegetarian, vegan and pescatarian lunches are available on request. It has 4.7/5 from 94 reviews.
The boat is a double-decker motorised catamaran, so you get the stable deck but not much sailing. Non-swimmers should not plan on snorkelling the wreck unaided.
If you would rather spend a full day on the mainland coast, the west coast catamaran trip at $150 visits Kokomo Beach, Cas Abao Beach and the Blue Cave, with snorkelling and a barbecue lunch, and brings you back to town by bus. It has 4.7/5 from 56 reviews. The best snorkelling tours in Curaçao covers the shorter Blue Room trips too.
Best evening option: a sunset sail
Choose a sunset sail if you want an easy evening on the water after a beach day. The Irie sunset cruise costs $75 for 2.5 hours, sails through Spanish Water Bay and out to open sea for the sunset, and heads towards St Anna Bay for a view of Willemstad when the sea allows. The open bar covers rum, vodka, blue Curaçao, wine and beer, and three kinds of finger food come round as you sail. It is snacks, not dinner, so eat afterwards. Hotel pickup is a $15 round-trip add-on. It has 4.6/5 from 110 reviews.
The Gold Seahorse sunset party is the louder option: three hours aboard the same catamaran yacht that does the Klein Curaçao trip, with live music, a DJ, savoury bites and drinks, from Caracas Bay. It costs $130 and has 4.4/5 from 74 reviews. Book Irie for a cheaper, quieter sail, and the Gold Seahorse if you want a party.
Best for groups: a private boat
A private catamaran can make sense once several people share the cost, but our booking partner has no private catamaran listing with enough reviews to recommend. The closest is a private sailing trip with food and drinks at $499: four hours of sailing and snorkelling, morning or afternoon. It has 5.0/5 from only 2 reviews, and the listing does not say what kind of boat it uses, so ask before you book.
The private boats with a longer track record do not list a catamaran. The private boat tour with Captain Dirk costs $517 per boat for three hours and has 4.9/5 from 9 reviews. Split between six people, that is under $90 each, less than the $100 shared snorkel cruise. Our guide to private boat tours compares the options and what each one includes.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a catamaran tour in Curaçao cost?
On our booking partner, a sunset sail costs $75 to $130, a half-day snorkel cruise $100 and a full day to Klein Curaçao $140 to $160 per person. A private boat for a small group starts at around $500 per boat.
Which catamaran goes to Klein Curaçao?
Through our booking partner, the Irie Tours sailing catamaran ($140) and the Gold Seahorse catamaran yacht ($160). BlueFinn also runs a Klein Curaçao trip, booked direct; its website does not say which boat it uses.
Is a catamaran better than a motor yacht for Klein Curaçao?
Not automatically. A catamaran gives you a wide, stable deck and, on Irie, real sailing. The Mermaid and Miss Ann are motor vessels, but each has a beach house on the island and 4.8/5 from more than 250 reviews. If shade, toilets and a shower on the island matter more than the boat, pick one of those.
Is there a catamaran tour that avoids the open sea?
Yes. The Irie snorkel cruise stays in sheltered coastal water for its 4.5 hours, and the sunset sails spend most of their time in Spanish Water Bay with only a short stretch of open sea.
Pick Your Boat, Then Check the Date
Crossing time, group size, shade, toilets and what lunch actually looks like differ more between these boats than the price does. Compare them, then check availability for your date.
